Dear Friends,
We are in full swing at Music City Mission and gearing up for biggest event of the year- Our annual Christmas Party for Kids which will be held Saturday, December 18th from 10-12 and 2-4 PM. Our special guests for this years party, besides Santa, will be the Hampel Family Circus (www.hampelsmagic.com) They are an extremely talented family from Belleville, IL and the kids and adults will love them. Contact Jack Myers at 310-8463 if you are interested in volunteering for this event. We need many volunteers to make this awesome day happen. We also are officially collecting toys for ages 0-18. If you would like to help with this party, you may make an online donation by clicking the “donate” button on our homepage. We thank you for your support and prayers- many children and parents will be hearing the Gospel for the first time at the party and we hope and pray that they receive the message and take it to heart.
Saturday, December 4th, David Lipscomb University is featuring MCM at their men’s basketball game at 7:00 PM. We are asking ALL of our friends to come out and bring their friends and help us fill our section. Best of all, it’s FREE!!!! MCM will be featured several times throughout the evening and a love offering will also be received. Make plans and come join us for a night of fun and basketball! Contact us if you’d like to come and how many are in your group. We’ll hook you up!
We thank all of our volunteers who helped with our Thanksgiving Dinner last week. It was probably our largest Thanksgiving Meal ever! Jack Myers headed up an awesome team and did an outstanding job, as always coordinating this special day. We thank the Concord Community Church of the Nazarene for bringing many volunteers and their children’s choir to sing for the guests. It was a wonderful day! We couldn’t have done it without our numerous volunteers and contributors.
It’s so hard to believe we are winding down 2010. Our staff will enjoy their Christmas Break from December 20-January 6. But, we are already planning and looking ahead to 2011 and have some awesome things planned, so stay tuned!
MCM is also pleased to be an official “Donor Choice” agency for the United Way. So, if your employer does a giving campaign through United Way you can specify your dollars to go to Music City Mission. We hope you will consider MCM when you fill out your giving pledge card this year! Our code is 4057. You can contact Jennifer Wilkerson if you have any questions.
MCM has set a goal to have 150 Covenant Partners for 2011. We are off to a pretty good start. Would you prayerfully consider becoming a Covenant Partner with us? You can go to our homepage and sign up to do it thru pay pal automatically or by mail. We will send you a receipt and newsletter each month. We’d love to have 150 friends give $10, $15 or$20 a month. MCM receives no government funding, we operate by the generous donations of our friends and supporters. Please pray and consider becoming a Covenant Partner with MCM in 2011.
We once again thank all of our friends and supporters who have continually prayed, volunteered and supported us. We could not do it without you. We hope and pray you will enjoy this Christmas season and remember the greatest gift of all: Jesus! It’s all because of Him that we endeavor to “Heal the City, One life at a time!”
Merry Christmas!

MCM Updates and First Annual Trivia Night and Silent Auction
Hello Friends-
How quickly time flies when you are having fun. I just realized we are extremely behind in keeping this site updated with information and news. I do apologize. There is much to update about MCM, so without further delay…
Our Annual Thanksgiving dinner for 2009 was a huge success. We had around 200 families in attendance and a great group of volunteers! Everyone left full and happy and most of all, thankful! Jack Myers, our Programs and Events Director did an awesome job planning and directing this event!
The Christmas Party for Kids proved to once again be one of our favorite events of the year! We saw over 300 children packed into Music City Mission. They were treated to snacks, songs, a story, Children’s Pastor from Columbia, TN, Tonya Marks shared the Gospel and the TRUE meaning of Christmas with the kids and it was amazing! Of course, Santa came and brought over 1200 toys. We could NOT do this event without the many volunteers from Comdata, Nissan, Concord Community Church of the Nazarene, Grace Church of the Nazarene, Radnor Church of the Nazarene and numerous others. We once again, thank Jack Myers for his hard work planning this event, it truly takes a village to make it happen!
In January, MCM was privileged to partner with Feed the Children and Feed America First and handed out 2000 food, personal care and Avon boxes to several hundred Nashville/Davidson County Families. This was an exciting day as we saw many, many smiling faces and heard stories of what a blessing it was to receive these boxes meant. Pastor Bob Wilkerson, MCM CEO/Director and Jennifer Wilkerson, Director of Community Relations as well as Jack Myers, Programs and Events Director were on hand to assist and greet the families and had a wonderful time!
We are excited to announce our first annual Trivia Night and Silent Auction on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 @ 7:00 pm at MCM. Come and enjoy a couple games of trivia and also bid on our silent auction items. We have items up for auction from numerous local and national corporations, such as Dollywood, Nashville Predators, O’Charley’s and MORE! I promise you’ll enjoy what we are auctioning off!!!! There are some surprises as well! $10 gets you a spot on a team, or you can form your own team of 4 for $25! ALL proceeds go to Music City Mission. The funds will help us with our Annual Ladies Luncheon which is held in May as well as our Food Program. There will also be concessions available! PLEASE mark your calendars and plan to come out and support us! To reserve a spot or for more questions or info, contact Jennifer Wilkerson at 788-1490 or musiccity.mission@yahoo.com. We hope to see YOU there!
Be watching for news about our 2010 Ladies Luncheon, held Thursday, May 20th. Our speaker for this year is an amazing woman with an awesome testimony. Her story AND her music will be life-changing. Please join us in prayer as we beging preparing for this special day.
