Dear Friends,

We are in full swing at Music City Mission and gearing up for biggest event of the year- Our annual Christmas Party for Kids which will be held Saturday, December 18th from 10-12 and 2-4 PM. Our special guests for this years party, besides Santa, will be the Hampel Family Circus (www.hampelsmagic.com) They are an extremely talented family from Belleville, IL and the kids and adults will love them. Contact Jack Myers at 310-8463 if you are interested in volunteering for this event. We need many volunteers to make this awesome day happen. We also are officially collecting toys for ages 0-18. If you would like to help with this party, you may make an online donation by clicking the “donate” button on our homepage. We thank you for your support and prayers- many children and parents will be hearing the Gospel for the first time at the party and we hope and pray that they receive the message and take it to heart.

Saturday, December 4th, David Lipscomb University is featuring MCM at their men’s basketball game at 7:00 PM. We are asking ALL of our friends to come out and bring their friends and help us fill our section. Best of all, it’s FREE!!!! MCM will be featured several times throughout the evening and a love offering will also be received. Make plans and come join us for a night of fun and basketball! Contact us if you’d like to come and how many are in your group. We’ll hook you up!

We thank all of our volunteers who helped with our Thanksgiving Dinner last week. It was probably our largest Thanksgiving Meal ever! Jack Myers headed up an awesome team and did an outstanding job, as always coordinating this special day. We thank the Concord Community Church of the Nazarene for bringing many volunteers and  their children’s choir to sing for the guests. It was a wonderful day! We couldn’t have done it without our numerous volunteers and contributors.

It’s so hard to believe we are winding down 2010. Our staff will enjoy their Christmas Break from December 20-January 6. But, we are already planning and looking ahead to 2011 and have some awesome things planned, so stay tuned!

MCM is also pleased to be an official “Donor Choice” agency for the United Way. So, if your employer does a giving campaign through United Way you can specify your dollars to go to Music City Mission. We hope you will consider MCM when you fill out your giving pledge card this year! Our code is 4057. You can contact Jennifer Wilkerson if you have any questions.

MCM has set a goal to have 150 Covenant Partners for 2011. We are off to a pretty good start. Would you prayerfully consider becoming a Covenant Partner with us? You can go to our homepage and sign up to do it thru pay pal automatically or by mail. We will send you a receipt and newsletter each month. We’d love to have 150 friends give $10, $15 or$20  a month. MCM receives no government funding, we operate by the generous donations of our friends and supporters. Please pray and consider becoming a Covenant Partner with MCM in 2011.

We once again thank all of our friends and supporters who have continually prayed, volunteered and supported us. We could not do it without you.  We hope and pray you will enjoy this Christmas season and remember the greatest gift of all: Jesus! It’s all because of Him that we endeavor to “Heal the City, One life at a time!”

Merry Christmas!

It is hard to believe we are just three weeks away from Thanksgiving.  MCM has had a very busy fall with a lot happening. Our Night of Hope was a major success and we give God praise for that! Sue Duffield (www.sueduffield.come) and her husband Jeff (www.jeffduffield.com) were AMAZING! The food was delicious and the testimonies shared were powerful. We thank God for a wonderful evening. Our director of fundraising, Bert Prentice is hard at work and we appreciate all of his efforts on behalf of MCM.

Our Fall Fest provided a fun and safe environment for over 100 children and adults. MCM had inflatables, games, food and a host of crafts for the kids and everyone loved it!

We are now gearing up for our benefit concert this coming Friday night, November 12th at Grace Church of the Nazarene, (2620 Pennington Bend Road. Nashville, TN 37214.) The concert begins at 7:00 PM and doors open at 6:00 PM. This year’s line up of artists is outstanding! Mike Allen, who you have seen featured on the Gaither Homecoming Videos and concerts, McMillan and Life, (www.mcmillanandlife.com) a fresh, energetic trio comprised of husband and wife Jimmy and Liz McMillan and new comer Devin Brumfield, and award winning family group, The Freemans, (www.the-freemans.com). You will be blessed, encouraged and uplifted during this wonderful night of gospel music. Admission is $5 and a can of food. A generous love offering will also be received. PLEASE come support MCM and bring a friend, too!

Our annual Thanksgiving Meal is just around the corner. Thursday, November 25 MCM will fill with hundreds of families who will enjoy a special meal and time of thanksgiving together. Contact Jack Myers, jackmcmd@aol.com or 310-8463  if you would like to donate or volunteer for this event.

Our annual Christmas Party for Kids is also around the corner- Saturday, December 18th MCM will host a few hundred children for a very special day. The children will sing songs, hear the Christmas Story, receive special treats, get their picture with Santa and, receive presents! Our special guests this year is the Hampel Family Circus, (www.hampelsmagic.com) an extremely talented, funny and entertaining family from Illinois. They will no doubt entertain and minister to the children and their families. If you would like to volunteer or donate toys, please contact us as soon as possible. We’d love to have you take part in this awesome day!

We received some good news this week: MCM has been approved as a Donor Choice agency for the United Way! SO, if your employer has a giving campaign, you may choose to donate any portion you so desire from your paycheck, pre-tax to MCM! YAY! Our code is 4057. That is all you need when you fill out your Giving Matters Campaign info. We do hope you will consider MCM as your donor choice agency.

We once again thank all of our friends for your support and love shown to MCM. This is our busiest time of year and we are loving it and thankful God has allowed us to serve Him through “Healing the City, One Life at a Time.”
