August 2010 and Summer Highlights
Dear Friends,
It seems unreal that we are already in August! 2010 has flown by! School will be starting and Music City Mission is in full swing and working hard. We have lots to catch you up on!
Our BRAND new website, as I am sure you have seen, http://www.musiccitymission.org is up and in full swing. We have ‘lots of new features and have also added an online donation link that is very secure. So, if you would like to make a donation to MCM and don’t want to hassle with sending a check you can do it easily and safely from our site. Anita Rundell at Complete Faith Web Design did an amazing job designing the site and we’re excited about working with her. Also, check out our newest addition to our MCM staff, Mr. Bert Prentice. We are excited to welcome him aboard and are already enjoying the knowledge and expertise he brings to MCM.
We had an awesome Vacation Bible School in conjunction with Radnor Church of the Nazarene. 17 boys and girls gave their hearts to the Lord during Friday night’s message. That’s what it’s all about! Everyone had a wonderful time and it was a blast to minister to the precious kids of our community that week. Plans are underway for our 2011 VBS as we speak.
MCM is hosting a “Back to School Drive” and is collecting school supplies and backpacks. We receive numerous requests from parents weekly and we want to be able to assist in this great need. If you would like to donate items, you may do so by dropping them off at MCM or you may make a donation online or send a check to MCM.
Our next Trivia Night and Silent Auction is Tuesday, September 21 @ 6:35 PM. We’ll enjoy 5 rounds of fun trivia, yummy concessions and some AWESOME silent auction items. I promise you’ll want to be there. The cost is $5 per person or $35 for a team/table of 8. All proceeds from the evening will go to MCM to help with some much needed building maintenance and towards our food pantry.
More formal information will be coming soon, but, Tuesday, September 14th will be MCM’s first “Night of Hope.” This special evening will feature some inspiration and music as well as a silent auction and a formal sit-down dinner. Tickets are $50 per person. Bert Prentice, Director of Fundraising will have more information in the coming weeks. We hope that many of our friends can make it out for this very special evening as we celebrate what God has done and look to the future.
Music City Mission could not do what we do without the help and support of many of our friends. We thank YOU for supporting and praying for us. We believe the best days are ahead and are looking ahead with excitement as to what God will do. If you need more information on any of our events or volunteer opportunities, please feel free to contact me. We always love smiling, happy faces! Again, please continue to pray for us as we seek to daily to do God’s will and to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We come in contact with SO many people who desperately need Jesus. It is an honor and a privilege to serve Him!
God Bless You!
